Nusa Penida, Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Lembongan are three small islands separated from Bali on the east side by the Bandung Strait, a place not to be missed on a trip to Bali. just 30 minutes by boat east of Bali, you will escape the hustle and bustle of Bali and its frantic development. Nusa Penida is the largest of the three at 17 km long. There is a lot to explore around the island: impressive cliffs, famous beaches, caves, temples, waterfalls...

 

Nusa Penida is a charming island with authenticity. The nature is still preserved from mass tourism. It is home to some of Bali's most photogenic sites like  Kelingking Beach, Angel's Billabong, Broken Beach  and Diamond Beach.  

If you want to see all of Nusa Penida and really enjoy your stay, you will need at least 3-4 days on the island.

What to see while diving in Nusa Penida?

There are fantastic dives around Nusa Penida , the amazing Manta Point cleaning station, and diving with the mola mola, especially in Crystal Bay.

The sites of Nusa Penida can be explored year round, depending on weather conditions, although some species are more present at certain times. Manta rays can be seen in Nusa Penida all year round whatever in snorkeling or scuba diving. June to mid-November is the best time of year to dive with Mola Mola.

Manta rays and mola-mola are ones of the best and most well-known reasons to jump into the waters of Nusa Penida. However, with around fifteen different dive sites around the island, the opportunities to meet beautiful species are numerous, and include, among others:

Long drift dives are done while flying over the magnificent reefs surrounding Nusa Penida.

Some dives around Nusa Penida are reserved for more experienced divers, as the currents can be strong and unpredictable. The visibility varies between 10 and 40 meters!

Most of the dives can be done at depths between 10m and 20m, but it can always be worthwhile to explore the deep area down to 40m:
