Gamat Bay is a small bay located on the west coast of Nusa Penida, between Toyapakeh and Crystal Bay, in the channel between Penida and Ceningan.

The bay and its coral plateau, 5 to 10 m deep, offer great encounters: nudibranchs, ghost fish, scorpion fish regularly populate this part of the dive site.

Then, on both sides of the bay, you will dive on a very colorful and very rich drop off where you can observe gobies, nudibranchs, moray eels, triggerfish, cochin fish, surgeonfish, angel fish, in the middle of corals. , sponges and sea fans in beautiful and diverse colors.

As everywhere else in the channel, the currents can be strong on this site and it is therefore possible to observe, in the blue, eagle rays, marbled rays or barracudas.

The temperature is also variable and can reach 20 or 18 ° C depending on the season; the advantage of these low temperatures lies in the fact that the mola-mola make a few appearances there from time to time, going up to be cleaned by the Bannerfish.

Due to these strong currents (with potential presence of downdrafts and updrafts) and their changeable nature, and it is not always possible to dive at this site, even for experienced divers.
